Ducati announces Aldeguer signing for 2025, but not where he will race
Ducati has reached an agreement with Fermin Aldeguer to ride factory machinery starting from next year, as reported by Motorsport.com last month. Although expected to join Pramac, Ducati’s official announcement does not specifically mention which team the 18-year-old will be placed with. Aldeguer, a highly regarded young talent in the paddock, is anticipated to make his MotoGP debut in 2025 after an impressive performance in Moto2 last season. His Ducati contract spans two years with an option to extend until at least 2028 and includes a base salary of around €300,000.
Gigi Dall’Igna, Ducati’s general manager, expressed excitement about welcoming Aldeguer to the Ducati family and praised the young rider’s capabilities. Aldeguer’s signing follows Gino Borsoi of Pramac hinting at Jorge Martin’s potential departure from the team. Martin, who finished as the 2023 runner-up, has expressed his desire to move to a factory team. Aldeguer’s signing marks Ducati’s second recent rider contract, following the extension with Francesco Bagnaia until 2026.
